I've heard all sorts of rumors about case academics, from that they're really easy to really hard (mostly heard that they are really hard) and I was wondering how true these rumors are.
I was hoping that someone who knows what s/he is talking about could answer my questions.
How do you think the academic toughness compares to other top schools?
How hard would it be to keep a say 3.5 gpa?
Thanks!

I would say, as a current student at Case, the academics are pretty hard and comparable to that of any Ivy league or Ivy-type school (like U Chicago, Northwestern, WashU, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown).

DON’T LET THAT SCARE YOU AWAY!

It might be hard but its definitely worth it, and Case makes it really easy to get help if you need it, between upperclassmen-led sessions and recitations for large lecture classes, to peer tutoring and the Writing Resource Center.

A 3.5 GPA is definitely attainable, I’d say, if you really work at it. I received a 3.3 last semester with 4 A’s and 2 C’s in 17 credits for nursing. Plenty of students do study hard and get a 3.5 if that is their goal! Feel free to message me if you have any other questions :)

It really depends on your major. Some majors, especially those in engineering, are much more demanding and require a ton of work. It’s doable though. You just need to manage your time really well and not procrastinate.

From what I’ve seen, the academic rigor is something that will be challenging to all students, but it isn’t excessive and something people cannot handle.
