How hard are the exams for each of these?

Hey guys, im new here at college confidential. I am currently a sophomore and plan to do AP Statistics and AP Economics in my junior year. And then I'll go on and take AP Physics, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus.

How would you guys rate these AP classes and their exams based on their difficulty? How many hours a day do you have to study for each?

Also, if you could recommend any other EASIER APs I would really appreciate it :)

Easiest: AP Psych and AP Eng. Lang. & Comp.

Heard AP Stat is relatively easy too.

You'll probably have to review every day for those math & science APs to keep up. For psych you'll have to study for tests a little and do a bit of review before exam. Ap Eng. Lang. don't really study.

well it sucks cuz our school doesnt offer AP psych
and i have no interest in doing ap english :(

i have not taken any of the AP classes you have listed, but i have taken AP Bio and Ap US History, and i spend at least 2 hours a day on those two classes alone. So you be the judge!!!

Ap Bio and Ap US History are not really that easy or hard, but you just have to be willing to learn a lot -i mean a lot- of facts!!

Easiest: AP World History, AP English Language, AP Environmental Science

ap eng lang is easy? what??

AP Eng. Lang has the lowest % of 5's of ANY AP exam

^ nope. AP Eng. Lit has a worse %

Because AP English Lit is a real exam.

^ Um, yeah. It is. Lol, are you being sarcastic or what?

But yeah, I'm interested in the answer to OP's question as well.

Yeah, Eng. Lang is easy. I FELL ASLEEP during the exam and walked out with a 5. If you can write essays quickly and cohesively (I don't do rough drafts or outlines) then you're set.

I'd recommend putting either AP phys, AP calc, or AP chem into your junior year schedule. Taking those three at once isn't a good idea (imo), especially since you'll be applying colleges at that time.

Lol...I like how the OP asked about the difficulty of those particular APs, and everyone else responded with other APs.

Anyway, I took all of those but econ. Stats is by far the easiest of the bunch. As for time spent, chem homework took me anywhere from half an hour to two hours a day.
Calc took me anywhere from half an hour to three hours.
Physics has been kind of weird... A lot of days I won't do anything at all, and other days I'll spend two to four hours on homework.
Stats takes me about 15 minutes a day. Lol.

Exam difficulty depends on the student. Chem, physics, and calc BC seem to be on the same level. I personally think calc was the most difficult exam (I'm taking physics this year, so I haven't taken that test yet, but the AP exam questions I've seen haven't been too horrible), but I know others who think chem is the hardest, and others who think physics is the hardest.

Hope that was somewhat helpful... Classes are taught differently at every school though, so yeah...

don't take physics and chem at the same time unless you're looking for an excuse to go jump off a cliff...or i suppose if it's your senior year you won't really care anymore...

I think the lowest is US Govt. at only 6% receiving fives, although it was not mentioned here... just thought I would say that because AP Lit isnt the lowest % of 5's
