I checked OSU website for ordering student football tickets this summer. I see how the process works. So my question is if we get online immediately during freshman’s time slot will we get tickets ? Do they sell out crazy fast ? Are there students left without tickets ? Any type of ticket or area to ask for to raise his odds ? The football and other sports experience is important to my son. Thanks.
If he gets online and orders as soon as they become available, he will be fine. Last year, my son (who is a HUGE sports fanatic) did a “dry run” - clicking through the ticket website a few days in advance - and was ready to go as soon as the freshman ticket window opened. He was able to get Block O South, which is a very enthusiastic cheering section. Note that Block O South and North are general admission, unassigned seating. Students can also get tickets in the other “regular” student sections (these don’t sell out as fast as Block O). These sections DO have sssigned seating - students will be assigned a specific seat closer to the beginning of the school year and will be able to request seating with friends.
“Block O” is also the name of an organization that supports all OSU sports. Your son may want to consider joining. IIRC, there is an opportunity to join.this organization as part of your ticket transaction (but I don’t think you have to join to buy tickets in the Block O sections for football.) I believe they sponsor bus trips to away games too.
My son has loved cheering on OSU sports. In addition to football, he’s attended basketball, hockey, soccer and lacrosse games.
Hope this helps! Congrats to your son and go Bucks!!
Thanks ! Very helpful !
@Lenoir if you haven’t found it already, there’s a wonderful, supportive Facebook page called "Ohio State University (OSU) Parents. Any question you have will be immediately answered by numerous people!
Thanks you have been very helpful. Ill check it out.
Good info here… The only thing I’ll add is that I think the assigned seating in Block O is not enforced as my son tells me that groups of friends sit wherever they want and no one even looks at seat assignments. His friends have assigned seating in all different areas of the stadium, but still sit together in Block O at whatever seats they can find and no one seems to care.
OP, congrats to your son on his admission! My son (also a huge sports fan) just finished freshman year and he had the BEST year of his life. He is so happy and thriving at this school. So glad he chose OSU!
There is no assigned seating in Block O.
