How hard/how much homework for my classes?

How many hours of homework did these give, and how hard is it to get an A?
Thanks so much!!

AP US
AP English Language
Accelerated Pre calc
Accelerated Spanish 4
Accelerated Physics

That COMPLETELY depends on your teacher; we don’t go to your school, so we couldn’t tell you.

Ik but some classes have trends… ie “AP Euro is a blow off class” said no one ever

I have never received as much homework as I did in APUSH. I took APUSH as a Sophomore, and that class assigned more homework than all of my other classes combined. Don’t get me wrong, all the work paid off when it came to the exam plus, the rigor and workload of APUSH made AP World seem like, as you phrased it, a “blow-off” class. LOL.

I think APUSH tends to be really time consuming in terms of homework at most schools.

AP English Lang varies more than APUSH does, we had three AP English teachers, and they each assigned different amounts of work and also had different policies on late homework (my teacher, for example, accepted late work until the end of the quarter, for full credit, while another teacher did not accept late work, at all.) So that really does depend on your school.

Thanks! And yeah that sounds like what a friend told me… 3 hrs a night to get an a :(

That’s funny, because at my school APUSH is considered the joke of all APs.

^ That’s pretty interesting, because at my school APUSH is considered one of the hardest AP courses under AP physics and AP chemistry.

It’s the same thing here (@23mhead). Sure, it was a bit of homework, but it was all extremely easy and I don’t think anybody could even begin to compare it to things like Chem, BC Calc, or even WH at my school. Honors pre-cal and physics are not hard at all if you’re math-oriented, but the difficulty AP English and Spanish are completely up to your teacher.

Yeah, as you can see it all depends at the teachers at your school. I would ask some upperclassmen who have already taken the class.

APUSH isn’t that bad if you just read. But I didn’t get homework. AP Euro actually is a blowoff at my school, FYI.

Ask people that have taken the classes at YOUR SCHOOL. You will probably get better answers

Expect around 1-4 hours, depending upon the day, teacher and how hard the school is.

For example, Stuyvesant is more work than Random High

I had a fairly similar schedule, for me it varied greatly. There were days where I had 50 pages for APUSH and a problem set due for physics (soooo much more time consuming then it seems) and days where all I had to do was read a couple chapters for English. Assuming you pace yourself it will probably average out to 1-3 hours a day.

^Yeah, ArtsyGirl’s statement is pretty in line with what I’ve experienced. You just need to avoid procrastinating
