Science is not my best subject, but for some reason I feel guilty if I don't take all 6 AP's offered at my school. As of now I want to be a lawyer, so I don't really see how AP Bio would help me, but i just want to make sure that I really won't be able to handle it before I opt not to take it. So considering I'll also be taking AP calc ab, music theory, english, and spanish next year and I'm not great at science, should I not take it or is it not that hard? Thanks...

It's a bit hard, there are a lot of constant ideas you have to know off the back of your head and TRULY understand it. It's not as easy to learn if you don't have the motivation. However, one could probably finish about 6 chapters in a day if they truly wanted to.

It's a lot of memorization; you have to know your facts, which makes it difficult to absorb chapters and chapters of info

AP Biology is one of those classes where a 3 hour cram the night before yields an A on the test. Studying for the AP test, on the other hand, requires a bit more work---what's good is the AP test tends to put alot of focus on areas that are concept based rather than fact based (i.e. understanding Darwin's theory of evolution rather than being able to spot Carboxylic Acid). So, I guess that's good. It's pretty fun, and I think one of the most useful courses you can take in high school---Academic/Honors Biology doesn't even begin to give you an understanding of how the world works, but with AP Biology, things seem to fall into place.

I've heard Ap Bio is the hardest class at MY school mainly because the teacher sucks, but i've heard its like the easiest AP in most high schools
most of the people that take AP Bio in my school end up with Cs in the class and 3s on the exam which is a waste so u baisically have to teach it to urself in my school
if u get Cliffsnotes AP Biology, ive heard it helps A LOT so study it and it will help u in the class and the AP exam
also y dont u take AP US history or euro history or world history if ur gonna be a lawyer, esp. us history
if its not offered at ur school u should self study them because they r alot more important than biology in law

it's easy squeezy compared to other classes (well,at my school), like chem or physics

bio is all memorization
but it's "fun" memorization

AP Bio is one of the easiest AP's at my school because the teacher is amazing - out of 35 kids, maybe 3 or 4 did not get a 5.

I thought the course was fun and not too difficult as far as memorization goes, but I could see it being a huge problem if the teacher is bad.

Really depends on what teacher you get. The AP test itself is not hard. However, on my school AP Bio is the hardest science class, my teacher is very demanding of her students. I get about 3-4 20 pages lab packets every week. There are times where people study really hard and still get a C or D on tests anyway. 1/2 the class go Us on the midterm. Of course there are people who still get good grades, but overall my class is extremely stressful and loaded with work.

AP BIO is the easiest, AP chem and physics are MUCH HARDER. TAKE AP BIO.

I heard that Chem is pretty easy. Bio is hard

ap physics. gosh that's a killer. at my school, there are only 8 students left and majority of the students received c's, d's, and very few b's. it's why i decided to just take ap bio instead since it's much easier. i wish my school offered ap chemistry. i'm not a science person either.

oh to answer your question: take ap bio. if you don't like it, you can always drop the class. it's better to try it than never try it at all.

the debate about chem vs. bio--difficulty varies for everyone. i'm bad at math and chem has a lot of it, so i took bio, which only has a little bit of stats--hardy-weinberg, chi2 tests, genetics crosses.

it's just memeory work. since I have a bad memory I make flash cards! out of every single fact in the Cliff notes book...

AP Bio is easy as pie. I studied the night before(had to pull an all nighter; don't recommend doing that) and got a 5 on the AP exam. I only got a B in the class, so I'm not some super genius.

I prefer Physics. Also don't feel guilty. You might overwork yourself and not do as well in the classes you need.

at my school, AP Bio is hard, but it definitely isn
t the hardest class. the average grade is a B-/C+, but there are students who make the A. i
m taking it next year. oh, the horror.
