I will be a freshman in the fall and am planning to major in neuroscience. For the major you are required to take Calculus. I do not have the strongest math background, probably averaged a B in all of my math classes in high school.
How hard is the calculus class at UA? Will I be able to pull out an A?
Calc is hard, no doubt about it. Especially for someone with no calc in high school, it can be a huge learning curve to jump into a college level math class. But you may find it extremely conceptually easy for you!
The UA math department is a little hectic when it comes to lower level math classes (100 and 200 level), but pretty good for advanced classes. You could find it hit or miss for a calc professor.
Let me know if you need a tutor! You’ll have to study for an A if calc doesn’t come naturally to you!
