Im planning on skipping Precalc(trig) by studying over the summer, so I can take AP calc in my senior year..

How hard is Ap Calc? By studying vigorously during the summer on pre calc, will i get all the fundamentals for APcalc?

It's easy.

you will get it if you do your homework everyday and focus in class

I've self-studied Calculus a little bit, it's pretty reasonable. So if mathematics comes natural to you, skip Pre-calc.

Im not skipping it literally.. Im going to self study with some pre calc books that I can get on amazon...

Does it sound like a fair plan? By studying pre calc/trig during my whole summer, will I be at the same level as the kids that took in in school? Will I be ready for AP calc in that manner...? Im sorry for sounding so pathetic, but I really do want to take it, and want some reassurance that it can be done...:(

Thanks.

You only need basic precalc for calc. Be able to calculate sin(pi/2) and stuff. Well, I just used my calculator the entire year, and if I had to, I graphed it. You might be at a disadvantage for those problems, but it shouldn't hurt you unless your teacher focuses on trig-related calc.

Well.. if I study Pre calc and they study pre calc, shouldn't we all be on the same shade of music? Im sure AP calc we'll teach us more fundamentals of calculus anyway.

i personally thougth calculus was quite easy...maybe because i had a very good tutor who explained everything to me..but ya it wasnt bad at all

I think it depends on how good you are with math. If you have "natural" skill in math, then calculus is pretty easy and it's definitely possible for you to self-study pre-calculus. But if math is not your subject, you'll probably have problems doing it on your own.

calc isnt really all that hard i think. and like theoneo said, you only need basic pre-calc like trig/logs/exponents....that should be good enough.
its really conceptual and once you understand the logic, it should be quite easy.

If you have a solid basis in math and you know what you're doing, you'll be fine. Make sure to find someone who can answer any questions you may have along the way; I found that calculus builds on itself very quickly. If you skimmed over your last couple math classes and managed good grades by pulling it together for tests, don't bother.
