Hi Everyone,

I'm currently a "partially-decided" Economics major with an interest in switching to Finance (or doubling).

I've heard econometrics is sort of like the organic chemistry of a finance and upper-econ. major's program. People have been saying it's pretty hard.

I've been putting it off, but will probably have to take it next year. Anyone have experience with it and know just how hard it is? Is it mostly urban legend? If not, what makes it that hard? How can I best prepare?

For what it's worth, I took Calc. and Stats and got a B- and B+ respectively in them. ...I struggled through both, but also admit that I was partying a little bit too much during that year (I was a freshmen). I sort of crammed a lot to study for those two classes.

I've since gotten much more focused academically and know how to better balance my life. But, still, I have some doubts about my abilities because of my previous experiences. But, I wonder if econometrics is like a real test of one's econ/finance/business acumen and ability? I had thought of graduate school for an MBA and don't want to mess anything up with a bad grade in a key class. But I also want to see if I have the ability for such work.

Just trying to see how hard economerics is and how best to strategically approach things? If need be I might lessen my course load for that econometrics semester.

Thanks people. Awould appreciate your feedback and help!
