How difficult is FREN 2060 compared to the intro courses? I've taken french in all 4 years of high school in Canada. Does anyone have any sample work from the course?

Is it recommended to take a foreign language course in the first semester so that one does not forget what they have learned in HS even if one is doing a pre-med track?

if you took at least 2 years in high school i think you have to do a placement test. but that doesnt stop anyone from faking their placement test to place into 121 or 122

san san is super nice. just do your work. she’s really understanding, too–gave me a extension for test corrections, once. i took 2060 this past (spring) semester, and the first half of the course was short stories in a literature workbook (with comprehension questions for each story) and the second half was reading “le chien jaune,” which is still quite possibly the most boring book i’ve ever read. but whatever. it wasn’t too bad at all. i had a friend who took 2090 while i was taking 2060 (i could’ve taken either, based on my placement score) and she always seemed to have a whole lot more work than me.

additionally, i took french from 7th grade to 12th grade and was in ib french hl in high school. i had three semesters of no french before taking 2060/the french placement exam, but 2060/2090 is what i placed into. in terms of difficulty, i think i would have been fine in a more challenging french course.

indigo…would you say that 2060 is more reading or writing? i’m good at understanding when san san speaks and i can understand what i read…but i struggle with grammar :<
