<p>My high school offers a one semester organic chemistry course simply called "Organic Chemistry". I am generally a good student. Most of the time I do get straight As. But I still wouldn't consider my self really intelligent because my classes aren't too hard. I mean I have took several APs before such as AP Econ, APUSH, and AP Human Geo and aced them, but they aren't really that hard compared to AP Chemistry and Physics (although I do think APUSH required a significant amount of work). Plus I've also aced the standard math and science classes such as Algebra 2, Chemistry 1, Biology 1. I was wondering, how hard is high school organic chemistry? I could either take AP Govt or Organic Chemistry but I want to pursue a career in the medical line and I'm also taking Bio AP right now, but I have a B in it :( So how hard do you think organic chemistry in my high school is? Do you think I can successfully achieve an A without too much trouble? I'm worried because I don't want it to mess up my GPA. </p>
<p>Here is a little description my school has about Organic Chemistry on their website:
"Students planning to pursue a career in the health sciences should consider this class. This course will emphasize the fundamentals of organic chemistry and biochemistry. Various organic and biochemistry laboratory techniques will be studied and used. These include the synthesis of nylon, aspirin, flavors and scents, the making of soap, and silver-plated test tubes. Students who have completed Advanced Placement Chemistry may take Organic Chemistry."</p>
