I'm taking these two courses along with a couple other math/technical courses so was wondering.

If you are not mathematically ■■■■■■■■, 316/366 are easy. Cram before your exams and for 366, remember to do your wiley plus.

310’s content is easy but if you have Amy Cohn it can get annoying with the group project stuff.

Do you think doing IOE 333 and IOE 373 as well as EECS 280 and a Ross class in one semester would be hard?

no, if that’s your whole schedule that should be easy

@collegebound_guy

I took all 3 of these classes last semester

310-Kaufman
The content can be challenging at times but he made the class pretty easy. You should get all of the lab/homework points. Also, I don’t know if Cohn has the same exam rules, but Kaufman let you use a sheet of paper with anything on it (including examples).

366-Byon
The homework is online and gives you multiple tries. Thus, you should get of all the homework points. The GSIs make videos that practically hold your hand through the labs.
The two exams make up 80% of your grade though. The content is NOT that hard, but my final exam had a LOT of calculations (which takes up time).

316-Lavieri
This is the hardest class in the bunch. The content is NOT too bad, but there are some homework problems that will require office hours. There are also weekly quizzes.

Overall:
Getting at least an A- in each of these classes is very reasonable. Make sure to get all of the homework/lab points. The GSI’s and the instructor will practically tell you answers at office hours. The work load in these classes is NOT too much either.

@777Blue77 Can you give me information about IOE 333 and 373?

Really? I thought it was pretty easy. Certainly easier than 366. Most of the material you can just reason through without studying it, but maybe she upped the difficulty in your semester.

I didn’t think 310 (with Amy) was hard but I really liked the material. I also thought the term project was awesome and I liked doing it. Some people did think it was pretty hard though so it’s going to depend on who you ask.

366 material makes no sense to me. I tried to understand it in the beginning but I gave up. I had to just cram memorize how to do template problems, do them on the exam (I had Guzman so the entire test is just template problems) and dumped all “knowledge” at the end of the exam. If you’re good at that, I guess it can be easy. It’s not my thing, so I found it somewhat difficult.

333 is pure memorization, and isn’t disguised as anything else either. The difficulty of the class is based on how well you can do that.

373 is apparently different now than when I took it so I can’t tell you about that.

"@777Blue77 Can you give me information about IOE 333 and 373?"

I’ll be taking both of those classes this coming fall semester.

“Really? I thought it was pretty easy. Certainly easier than 366.”

366 was much easier than 316 last semester. 366 had open everything (aside from electronic devices) exams.

thanks! that was helpful insight into those classes.
