I was just admitted to the university, but not into CSE Direct Admit. This isn't really a crushing blow (I understand how competitive it is), but if I were to attend, just how hard would it be to reapply my junior year? Would I be wasting my time? (This goes for other math majors too, like ACMS, Statistics, etc.)

CSE direct admit decisions aren’t out yet.

You can apply for CSE as soon as you finish your prereqs, which can be as early as Spring of your freshman year. Then you can apply every successive Fall or Spring admissions cycle. There isn’t a limit of the number of times you can apply.

CSE: The difficulty of getting in mostly depends on your grades and personal statement. Sometimes it takes more than one application cycle to be admitted. (Competitive major)
Math: If you pass a number of classes, you can just file paperwork and declare the major. (Minimal requirement major)
ACMS and Statistics: You should have competitive grades and submit an application. (Competitive majors)
