How Hard is it to Change my Major at A&M

I am applying to Texas A&M, and am about 65% sure that I want to major in Community Health. However, it is very likely that I could change my major later on. I understand that A&M admits you based on the College you apply to (such as their college of liberal arts). If I decided I want to change my major to a major to a different college/department (either before or during my freshman year), would I have to reapply to the other college at A&M? In other words, can I seamlessly change my major or do I have to reapply to A&M and it's individual college?

Should I just major in University Studies, or should I list my major as community health so that I make sure that I stay on track, if/when I am positive that I want to major in community health.

*I assume A&M is like UT in that it admits you based on the college/department you apply to?
*If so, how hard is it to be admitted as a University Studies major?

Thanks guys!

Changing majors is very common. It is actually a norm from what I’ve witnessed among my friends. Fewer people than you think know exactly what they want to do before they get to college. If you get admitted to the University, there is an option on AIS to change major I believe. If you take care of this before your New Student Conference, then you are set. If you wait, then things can get a little difficult but it all works out in the end. Some depts wont let you change major to theirs until you meet certain prerequisite classes, which is where your advisor in your dept will tailor your schedule to meet these requirements and thus keep you on track. Contact an advisor in that department asap and talk to them about this. Even if you are not a current student, they will be happy to answer these questions for you and you may even get some more info that may influence your decision. Best of luck.
