Ok so i was recently admitted undeclared into the college of letters and sciences at UC berkeley. I recently checked and called and i was told that Art Practice is a capped major at berkeley.
The requirements to declare the major are as follows
- Have an overall GPA of 3.3
- Complete the R&C requirements
- Complete 2 required studio classes: Art 8 & Art 12
- Submit a portfolio of 12 images (include work from ALL studio classes)
- One letter of recommendation from an art faculty, art lecturer, or art GSI.
Exactly how difficult is it to get that 3.3?? I know it’s a lot harder to get a good gpa in college. And im pretty sure the classes i need to fulfill my major arent going to be as demanding as other capped majors like computer science but im scared. What if i dont fulfill that 3.3 and i dont get into the art major. What will i do then? What can i do if i worked for 2 years to fulfill the requirements for art and dont even get in??? I wont be able to declare another major or itd be alot harder. IM scared guys. My other choice was UCSB. Although art at Berkeley is higher ranked its not capped at UCSB, and they have the college of creative studies that i may be able to transfer to. PLEASE HELP!!!
