How hard is it to get in?

What's the average GPA/SAT scores?
I've seen some people post that it is hard, but then others seem to think that it is easy?

Thanks!

It’s selective. Part of the reason it is difficult to categorize whether or not it is “easy” to get into Pitzer is because of the holistic process used. Like many other liberal arts colleges, a high GPA/test scores alone are not enough to grant admission; other factors apply.

As for average GPA/SAT scores, for the admission cycle of 2008-2009, there was a 20% acceptance rate and an average weighted GPA of 3.9. SATs are only required of those who have below an unweighted GPA of 3.5 in high school. Therefore, the Math and Critical Reading were both in the mid to low 600s.

Agreed. Pitzer takes a holistic approach in its admission process. Some, however, do believe that Pitzer is “easy” to get into because it is perceived to be the least selective of the Claremont colleges. This isn’t true as all are equally selective and what it basically comes down to is fit. With a 20% acceptance rate Pitzer is very selective.
