Okay, so I'm new to this. How difficult would it be to get into Carnegie Mellon's Computer Science school. I know Carnegie Mellon has the best computer science program in the nation, and I really want to go there.

As hard as getting into HYPS.

At CMU you apply to a particular school in the U and the stats are on the website:
[Admission > Admission Statistics](<a href=“Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University”>Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University)

You want Computer Science OR Electrical and Computer Engineering? I think they are within 2 separate schools you apply to separately. So for

CS there is an 11% admit rate, you are usually in the top 5% of your class
Engineering has a 24% admit rate, you are usually in the top % of your class, but the breakout of EECE will likely be more like CS

CMU, MIT and Berkeley usually share the top spot in CS for Graduate School. For undergrad each is different and I don’t know that rankings in the top 25 or even more matter so much.

Are you female? CMU has really committed to admitting females to the cs program and look for non traditional types to admit (like not your normal gamer or such.) Just be great at math. They area up to at least 40+% female in just a few years.

No I am male, and thanks for your responses! I appreciate it.
