How hard is it to get into Haverford?

I’m currently a junior in high school and am really interested in Haverford. Would anyone be able to tell me if I have a chance at getting accepted? I visited them in the beginning of my sophomore year (if they care about “demonstrated interest” like some schools do). I have a 4.3 GPA right now, and my SAT’s are not final yet, so they could increase, but I am currently scoring around a 1520. I have 200+ hours of volunteer service so far, am Vice President of 2 clubs and am also actively involved in various other clubs, and I’ve shadowed a doctor. I’m also an Ambassador at Nordstrom. I’m planning on getting a job in December or January (once my SATs are completed).

Do I have a shot at getting in? If not, what should I do to improve my chances?

Your grades/test scores aren’t going to keep you out because they are very solid. Keep up the good work! Admissions to Haverford and schools like it are somewhat holistic and hard to predict. Applying ED would increase your chances. Also, take the supplemental essays very seriously.

What @doschicos said. Sounds like you’re on the right track!

Your academics and activities look good. If you truly love Haverford, ED may be a helpful option. Also, when you fill out the application, make sure you show that you embrace diversity and a strong community. They are very proud of their openness and honor code so keep that in mind when you write your essays.

I agree with everyone above. Haverford cares about how you will contribute to their community. They also like students who want to make a difference in the world, so if your volunteer work is important to you, convey that as well. Make sure you interview when the time comes!

Can your family pay their family contribution for Haverford?
