Currently I go to a very large school (class size of around 1400) and am barely top 6% (I’m around 1 rank away from not top 6% meaning i don’t get automatic admission to the school). My weighted GPA is a 4.385/5.0 and I have a 34 on my ACT. I have a fairly decent amount of extracurriculars (multiple volunteer organizations , sports , jobs , etc) and am planning on looking for an internship this summer just to make my application look better. If i don’t end up getting top 6% how hard will it be for me to get into McCombs?
Without auto admit, you’ll be part of the holistic group of admissions. I encourage you to work hard this semester, earn the best possible grades, and try to be an auto admit. It’s a lot easier to get into UT as an auto admit, although major decisions are still made by holistic review. Good luck and hook 'em!
