How hard is it to get into McCombs instate?

Hey Guys,

I applied in September and I got accepted to the University since I am top 4% but not into my first choice major which was McCombs. I have a 3.92 W GPA and a 1900 SAT score, what are my honest chances?

Well, you got accepted into your second choice at UT right…? Chances for what? You have to be Top 3% for Auto-Accept into Mccombs, out of that its extremely hard.

First Choice - Mccombs

Second Choice - Mechanical Engineering Cockerell

Dang top 3% automatic? Thanks for the feedback!

Uhmm, I’m pretty sure engineering is 5% auto… I went to Mccombs summer camp so they told us 3% was auto.

lol i went to that same camp man. they said last year was top 2% auto and that this year it may or may not be. i have a friend in top 3% who has to wait until february to know. they really do look at your holistically. i got in… top 1.5%

Whaa… user2011 whats your name lol? Just wondering if i met you

It’s more like top 2% for McCombs, based on the influx of apps this year. They will take 1% and then they will start moving down until they fill up 65% of the in-state incoming class. The rest of the class (35%) will have to go through a holistic review process to get in.
