Just wondering, because I'm thinking of applying there.

I have a 3.3-3.4 UW GPA (from a top public school in my state, very rigorous. Also there's a huge upward trend), 22xx SAT, 800 SAT II Math 800 Chem, and a 5 on the AP Chem test. Do my stats seem within the range of typical hotel school applicants?

What are the most important aspects of getting in? I heard somewhere that the interview + hospitality experience is the most important. I don't have any hospitality experience so far, but I'm planning on working as a waiter in a restaurant or working in a hotel. Do you think its too late for a rising senior to take up some hospitality experience?

I mean, these “chancing” threads are mostly pointless, but I will say that EVERY hotelie I have ever met has had demonstrated a passion for hospitality thats pretty prevalent in their ECs, work experience, etc. A great deal of what the hotel school prides itself upon is the “fit” of its students, and I feel like just a summer of working at a restaurant (which, frankly, any student could have on their resume) doesn’t really show any sort of passion for the hotel industry…even though your stats are high, it doesn’t necessarily show HADM admissions why you should be a hotelie.

It’s very hard. The Hotel Administration program is incredible; there is a reason why the yield for the Hotel School is close to 80%. Having some sort of hospitality experience / leadership is a very important factor for gaining admission.
