I'm awaiting my dorm assignment and was wondering how hard it is to get into the new dorms?
Thanks

I got Alder, and apparently a couple of people down at the UW Facebook group got the new dorms as well even though they placed them at one of their lowest priorities… kinda weird actually so it shouldn’t be that hard. Alder WAS my first choice though. But if you don’t like your dorm, you could always try apply for a room switch!

I’m not surprised that people got the new dorms despite them being low priority on their list. This year they had a hard time filling up Poplar (Elm and Alder aren’t open yet) because the rooms are sooo expensive. Almost $3000 more per year. Seems like a waste of money to me and apparently a lot of other people feel the same.

Yeah that’s what I thought, but on the other hand, there are also a couple of people that really wanted the newer halls but got their 7th or 8th choices at one of the older halls.

Yeah, that’s what happened to me. It’s kind of a puzzler how the system assigned rooms

yeah i heard people that put the new halls as last priority, and as for me, i put them as my top 2 but ended up getting my 4th choice, McCarty but oh well, McCarty still seems pretty nice so i’m happy i guess :)
