<p>How hard is it to get into the Stanford summer program? Pretty hard? So if you don't have a top GPA/SAT, you are usually rejected?</p>
<p>Summer progs -- with exception of the most prestigious ones like MIT's RSI and Michigan State's HSSP research progs, to name a few -- are usually not very hard to get into. In fact, I think Stanford's Summer classes/EPGY progs only ask for your HS grades and one or two teacher recs. I know someone from my school who went there over the summer, and he wasn't the "top" student in our class. Basically, if you can pay for it, you can go, because those progs are very expensive. (That guy also applied Stanford EA, but he got rejected outright, so don't think that going to those progs will boost your chances at Stanford! Just go for the experience!)</p>
