<p>I just submitted my application for honors. I've already been accepted into UT. Is admissions into honors mainly score based. do you think I should get in?</p>

<p>I knew a few people with better numbers that did not make the cut but now that they’ve shaken things up who knows what will happen. Honors Engineering isn’t really all that great anyway. You won’t be missing out on much if you get turned down. There are a few old threads w/ info about it if you search for them.</p>

<p>I agree wth frever - it doesn’t matter if you don’t make it into honors. I was in it many years ago, and from what I’ve read on this board, things haven’t changed any - there just aren’t many benefits to it. I actually struggled in Honors Physics, because there were so many SMART people in the class that there wasn’t much of a curve. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t have gone the honor route.</p>
<p>Apply for it, and even if you don’t get in don’t sweat it because Honors really isn’t as big of a deal as it seems coming out of high school.</p>
