How hard is it to get into UB pre-pharmacy?

Hey guys, im a junior in high school and was wondering if anyone knew how hard it is to get into the State University of New York at Buffalo (UB) pre-pharmacy program? I wanted to go to a private pharmacy school like St. Johns but the tuition and room and board is way too high so now im looking into UB because its considerably cheaper.

Bump. I really want to know how hard it is to get in

UB doesn’t use different standards for pre-pharm than they do for other programs. If you apply reasonably early (late Nov, early Dec) and are a good candidate for regular admissions, you should be fine.

Fwiw, acceptance standards at St John’s and the other 0-6 schools are more stringent (SJU requires around 1330 SAT and corresponding gpa) but that’s because you’re guaranteed a seat and they receive thousands of apps for a few hundred spots. UB offers a guaranteed entry option if you maintain a 3.5 average in the 13 or so required prepharm classes, which apparently many do not manage to maintain in their first two years. In comparison, SJU and the other 0-6’s have much lower gpa requirements to stay in the program. Imho, UB offers a better program than many of the 0-6’s but there is a chance you will not finish in 6 years.

Nice, thanks for the input.
