How hard is it to get into UC Berkeley as a Claasical Civilizations major?

I have a 3.6 gpa at my community college.
Im on the UCLA Honors Transfer Program with UCLA.
PHI THETA kAPPA
volunteer 100 hours

Assuming classical civilization isn’t an impacted major there (which I’m quite positive it’s not), it shouldn’t be too hard.

Part of the reason why I say this is because, there are probably more philosophy majors that applied there (including myself) than classical civilization majors.

And based on this year’s admissions from Cal and stats from the past (transfer admissions from cc), basically if you had a 3.5 for a humanties major (history/english/philosophy/etc) then you would get in. I had a friend who made it to cal this year with a 3.4 gpa in philosophy and no volunteering hours during his cc years. But he did have an excellent personal statement, and an upward trend in his grades.

Remember, this is Berkeley, which means they put a lot of emphasis on your personal statement and the classes you took (try to complete all your major prereq that your cc offers, the ones that Berkeley accepts). Also try to do better every semester, that is always a boost.

I got into Berkeley with approximately same GPA as you, and I was not in the honors transfer program nor did I do community service hours. You have an excellent chance with that major, gpa, and community service work. Just remember to have a strong personal statement and DO NOT have a downwards trend in regards to your gpa. Maintain your gpa or get it higher, then you will have a very strong chance in being admitted to Cal.
