How hard is it to get into UCLA, NYU, USC...etc

-I am going into my junior year in High School. (I go to a very small private college prep school in New York State)
-I get decent grades: i dont really know my actual gpa from my sophomore year but my average was a 90/100. (honor role)
-I am in advanced placement which means i took chemistry and trig my sophomore year
-This year i will be taking 3 AP classes : AP Biology, AP English, and AP US History
-Dont have many EC's...i played basketball freshman year and several sports in middle school idk if those count
-our school makes us do community service so i get around 50 hours each year

this year i plan on really bringing my grades up because every year i average around a 90 without ever studying (terrible work ethic i know) but i could easily bring my average up to a 94 or 95. i also plan on taking SAT/ACT prep classes to get good scores.

Assuming i have good essays and recommendation letters and everything...what are my chances in getting into schools like UCLA, NYU, USC, Brown, etc...?

(Right now i plan on majoring in Biology and pursuing getting into medical school)

Your lack of EC’s will pretty much kill your chances at Brown.

Until you get actual AT / ACT scores it is impossible to know if you have a chance at any of these schools.

Based on anecdotal evidence, I would say USC is very hard to get into nowadays.

My brother’s kid got into Cornell, but not USC

My friend’s kid got into Michigan and Washington University, but not USC

Of the schools you listed, NYU is probably your best shot (but don’t expect much financial aid).

thats what im realizing. but my school doesnt really have any EC’s besides sports which take up a lot of time and would probably effect my grades
