Is it really hard to get into USC? Is it like trying to get into Berkeley? Or is it more competitive like trying to get into Stanford?

SFboy, you scare me. All of your posts on all of the boards are about how to get into a school in LA. Have you been there? Do you know why it is you think you want to be there? The schools you have mentioned are all completely different from each other. The only thing they have in common is location. I would very strongly suggest you go to LA, and see all of the schools and the areas. I know someone on one of your other posts mentioned Los Feliz. Do you know what it costs in that area?
You mentioned Hollywood in another of your posts..Much of Hollywood is dump...complete with bums, prostitutes, etc. The community colleges in LA are commuter schools. Do you want to live in a lousy apartment and take a LA transit bus to school every day as a freshman?
USC is very competitive. Go to collegeboard site and look at the stats. Then really sit down and figure out what is realistic for you in terms of admission, money, size of school, what you want to major in etc.
Please do not just pick any school that is in LA.

Okay first I have done my research on each school I want to apply to, and I don't think they're THAT different, except probably on how they're ranked nationally. I have my reasons for wanting to go to LA, and I do NOT want to go to a school in the middle of nowhere. Again, I need to be in a vibrant area that fits me. Oh and btw I will be living with friends and I will be able to afford a car and a decent place, so that's not the biggest issue here. I do NOT want to go out of state, I do NOT want to live in the middle of nowhere, and I would PREFER to go to a college near the california coast. Yes, I've done my research, no I haven't visited LA in a while but who cares! And btw I already have a complete college list on my collegeboard account, but I still want some advice from people who actually go there. So can someone please just give me some intake or compare USC's admissions to another school.

USC's acceptance rate for the fall 2006 class was 24%. Roughly the same as Berkeley. Stanford is harder to get into - acceptance rate is roughly half of that. USC SAT's are in the same range as berkeley, and again lower than stanford.

any more specific questions?
