I am a urm (African-American) and have great gpa, rank, leadership positions, etc but the only weakness is in my test scores. Did poorly on math II (680) and on the regular sat math I will get a (680-700). I'm also getting a b+ in ap calc ab. I want to study business so should I apply to Wharton despite my scores or should I just go with cas? Thanks

Bumpity bump

You should definitely apply to Wharton! Make sure you get all of your stuff in on time, and good recs!

I was in the same situation last year- African American, good gpa, rank, activities, etc. But I got 1940 on the SAT and 610/630 on the subject tests (And I didn’t even take a Math subject test). Despite that, I still got into Wharton. So go for it- make sure your essays are good, if you can do an interview, that’s good, and do the optional essay. It’s not that bad, and its pretty enjoyable compared to other essays.

Good luck!

If you have great teacher recs and amazing essays that really express who you are as a person and why you want to do business, then I think you have a considerable shot at Wharton.
