How hard is it to get out off a early decision agreement?

I was wondering, how hard is it to get out of a GW early decision agreement? What is the process of doing this. The reason being not enough financial aid.

GWU is a common app school, so if their FA offer is insufficient to allow attendance, you just say thanks but no thanks:

be careful…doing this can put you on a “black list” for other schools

^ No one has ever been able to document this rumor, or that any blacklist exists. Name the schools that do this.

Think about it for a moment: does a school want to force someone to attend, and then do an expulsion because the bill can’t be paid? No. It would be silly, and horrible publicity.
