How Hard Is It To Get Over A 3.8 GPA?

How hard is it to get over a 3.8 GPA as a transfer student.
Is it impossible? I heard that the grade deflation is bad.

Depends how smart you are.

I think that really depends on you and to a certain degree your major. For example, the chem and bio major tracks here are challenging.

How hard is the Political Science major?

It’s as hard as you make it. The requirements are VERY open; you can finish it in two years with a 3.8+ if you take the easy classes. But there are also a lot of very good upper level courses that are challenging that will give you a lot more knowledge than the basic major outline requires.

If you’re careful about choosing the right major/classes, it’s not hard at all.

Not to say that some routes to a high GPA aren’t easier than others, but if it is so easy why do less than 10% of students at UNC have GPA’s over 3.8?

It’s tough. Totally depends on your major/the classes you take and how psycho/genius you are.

It’s much harder in some areas than others (engineering and the sciences, plus some language classes). And many UNC students are lazy.
