I am applying to Case Western, and it is a match school for me. However, I am worried about the amount of merit scholarships Case gives out to its student body? Does anybody know the requirements (eg. ACT/SAT scores, GPA) for a certain amount of money from Case?

Thanks

I doubt Case has any set cut off for merit aid, but it likely goes to the better students in the applicant pool. According to section H2g of Case Western’s Common Data Set, approximately 41% of enrolled freshmen received non need based aid. In 2012 I was admitted off of the waitlist for Case (indicating that it was a reach school for me), and was offered no money. I suspect that they throw the largest packages at the best applicants (those well in the top 25% of enrolled students) and then steadily decrease the merit aid offer from there. So since it’s a match school, the merit aid offer may not make CWRU affordable depending on your price limit.

If you’re looking at CWRU for engineering, I’d encourage you to also consider the University of Tulsa which will likely award more merit aid than Case for someone with your profile.
