How hard is it to maintain a 3.5 GPA at state?

What the title says!

Not too hard, really.

High grades are achievable. That is not to say that classes are easy, or professors are lenient. The fact is that budgeting your time is critical.

If you want to maintain a 3.5 GPA or high, just keep that goal in mind and understand that you may have to sacrifice some “fun” while in upper division.

You question is actually quite broad, so that’s all I can give you for your question.

not hard. all the classes you take can be taken to merely pass and without being given a grade. except, of course, the classes you need specifically for your major.

That largely depends on which department and or major you choose.

I know that some of the majors such as Engineering, Physics, and believe it or not Communication (SDSU’s highest nationally ranked major) are very challenging and require a lot of work. Other majors such as Drama, Dance, Ethnic studies (Chicano / Chicana, or Latin American studies) are much easier.

If you plan to go into a difficult major then prepare to work just as hard as you would at any UC school.

Just because its SDSU don’t think its an easy A school environment.

SDSU is the highest ranked small research university in the country, and gets more research grants than 1/2 of the UC schools do. Plenty of people here are quite serious about their education.
