How hard is it to switch from a psych major to a capped major (biology)?

I was accepted as a psych major. But after submitting my application in nov, i decided i might want to switch into a bio major. but biology is capped at UCSD, how hard would it be to switch?? i know it’s not guaranteed that i would be able to.

It depends on how many decide to switch out of bio and how many want to transfer in. Have you looked at some of the psychology majors that are similar to bio? Most of the first year courses are similar, if not the same, as bio majors. You might start there and see what you think after a quarter or two.

This is a new major: Psychology with a Specialization in Human Health BS https://psychology.ucsd.edu/undergraduate-program/majors-effective-fall-2018/human_health_2018.html

Another option: Cognitive and Behavorial Neuroscience: https://psychology.ucsd.edu/undergraduate-program/majors-effective-fall-2018/cbn_2018.html#Lower-Division-Requirements-(36

Bio lower div requirements: https://biology.ucsd.edu/education/undergrad/maj-min/majors/fall19-later/general.html#Lower-Division-Requirements
