How hard will it be for me to switch from computer engineering to computer science at SLO as an incoming freshman.

You are in luck, CPE is one of the few majors that can switch to CS. You will have to wait until your second quarter and will need a 2.5 GPA. Good luck

Start early by talking to your engineering advisor, attending the engineering change of major workshop, and completing all the forms during your first quarter. My D was originally admitted in GENE and was granted her change of major to EE when her fall grades where posted. Good luck!
