I was a spring admit for Cornell and am seriously considering transferring out of there. Ithaca is rural and freezing, school is too big and greek. I tried hard to join clubs but didn’t stick with any by the end so I don’t have any extracurriculars but I made a 4.2 gpa (only on 12 academic credits though). I have a 1500 SAT score and was competitive enough when I applied for other strong colleges in high school. But I’ve read conflicting things about how easy it is to transfer, reading that AO’s don’t like to accept transfer from an Ivy but I also see some of my friends transfer quite easily from pretty strong schools. I’m an economics major and film minor so hopefully my justification for transferring stands out through my interest in combining the two. I’m just trying to find a school where I fit in better with the culture and I’d like to transfer to somewhere like Brown or Penn or Georgetown but do I stand a strong chance with my college GPA granted I do another strong semester at Cornell? Thanks in advance.
Where else did you apply? Were you accepted anywhere that you now like better than Cornell? If so, contact the admissions office ther and ask if you can"reactivate" your application.
