How hard is it to transfer from UMich to Georgetown?

Well, I'm a rising sophmore at U of M and I wasn't too happy with my freshmen year here. I knew coming in that I preferred being in the city, but I took on chance of UofM and decided to see something that I had never seen before. I had never been in the midwest. Well, Ann Arbor does not do much for me right now and might be transferring. I have some good friends in DC at GW and Howard. I'm going to major in political science and minor in philosphy so I assume that would be G-Town's Government program and G-Town college right? I really want to attend law school and I know Georgetown has good placement. So how hard would it be to transfer to G-Town after my sophmore year? If my credits don't transfer then I really don't want to go through with it.

not tooo hard…definitely doable and U of M is a good school so that helps too. as a junior transfer, its pretty much going to be about your GPA and your prof recs (but mostly your GPA). you need 3.7+ to have a comfortable shot. and i don’t see why you would have any trouble getting credit for your classes. you probably need a C- or better to get credit (or something along those lines)…but as long as you meet that, you’ll get credit for everything. it’s more a matter of whether they give you credit that actually gets requirements out of the way. which i cant tell you much about, because im an accepted transfer still waiting on credit evaluation. either way, even if you have to take some requirements as an upperclassmen…it would still be worth transferring. you shouldnt stay somewhere for 4 years where you aren’t happy if you can help it. good luck :)

all right thanks. So as a transfer student I would be applying before March of next year? I think that’s how it works. So I guess I better get to meeting professors.

yeah…deadline will be March 1…for sure get to work sucking up to your profs lol
