How hard is it to transfer into college of engineering?

let's say a kid is a chemistry major but in sophomore or junior year he realizes he'd rather be a chemical engineering major. assuming the kid has done well so far how hard would it be for him to transfer into the college of engineering?

also, this question is a bit off topic, but how hard would it be for a chemistry major to find work as a chemical engineer after he graduates?

anybody?????

Much easier to start with ChemE and transfer to Chem. Because of scheduling, certain Engineering courses are only offered during specific semeters.

It would not be hard. Check the chemical engineering website for GPA minimums and required prerequisite courses.

Also, it is very possible to work as a chemical engineer with a chemistry degree, although often you will transition into the roll. The term 'engineer' can loosely be applied to what a lot of chemists do anyway. And you can always get an M.S. in Chemical Engineering after you complete your B.S. in chemistry.
