Hi. Many of you may remember me; i got rejected from mudd, RD freshman admission. Now I am interested in transferring to mudd. However, I am also considering Cornell and U of Michigan. How hard is it to transfer into mudd compare to those two?

Will a 37 IB points cut it?

I think I could help you a bit.

I was accepted into HMC this year but had to pass on the lovely opportunity due to money. I will be going to UC-Riverside instead on Regents in the small honors program. However, during the decision process, I did talk with the dean of admissions over the phone about possible future transfers. Basically what he told me was that if I were to transfer within a year my high school information would be relatively important in the final outcome, as well as college. For college, if you plan to transfer into Mudd, you should take physics, calculus, chemstry and other sciences all in your first year; and you should get all or most "A"s. If you plan to transfer after 2 years of college, the dean said you fall into the category of "coming around" students who didnt find their academic potential until college and thus your college performance will be much more heavily weighted. Another thing is to join any "honors programs" that the school may have; these generally refer to programs within a large university where select students are given smaller classes, class selection priority, as well as a heavier load of work. Also, DO RESEARCH.

As for number, he said they get about 40 transfer applications per year and of those 40 they accept about 10 and of those 10, 3 or 4 actually complete the transfer to HMC.
