How Hard is it to Transfer into NYU Stern?

<p>NYU Stern is my dream school. I'm wondering what is the difficulty of transferring in as a junior. </p>

<p>Personally my stats are:
- GPA: ~3.6
- Top 15 University
- Strong EC's
- Got into NYU Stern as a freshman</p>

Most successful transfer applicants follow a general liberal arts curriculum at their school. Typically, the successful candidate will have completed at least a year of college credit (minimum thirty semester hours) and maintained at least a “B+” average overall, although the most competitive candidates usually exceed these minimum standards. If you have been in college less than a year, your high school record will be an important consideration for admission. Students who are currently completing the first semester of their freshman year at a college or university are not eligible to apply for spring transfer admission to the College of Arts and Science.

There seems to be no hard data out there but my guess would be somewhere in the vicinity of a 3.7+. I also remember reading that Stern places a heavy emphasis on math grades and scores. I will assume Stern will take into account the strength and rigor of your current institution.</p>

<p>No way is that true. B+ is too low, you probably need a 3.5 minimum and higher is better. I think to really have a chance you need like 3.7+. </p>

<p>It depends on other factors as well. I am thinking of applying as well. I have a 3.5 gpa in the Baruch Honors Program. The thing that I think will hurt me is that I did poorly in calculus a B-. I felt I got a B+ in the class but the professor would not listen.</p>
