hi. i am a senior in high school and i didn't apply to harvard this time.. cuz i knew i had no chance. i am waitlisted at cornell but i don think i will get in, so i willl prolly go to ut austin. how hard do u think it will be if i decide to transfer to harvard after freshmen year? like waht kinda things do u have to do in order to transfer to harvard??

i am in the ame boat, trying to transfer from ucla next year. can you guys help us out.

You should try to get very good grades at Austin.

but only just good grades though? and how good? like all A+, or wat? do i have to do a looot of activities also?

I think it requires more than just getting very good grades in order to transfer to Harvard.

Finish near the top of your class and you will have a fair chance as a transfer.

Harvard has very limited spaces for transfer students. It is in fact easier to be accepted as a student in the regular applicant pool (applying as a senior), so I don't know why people even count on applying after they've already gone to college as a way of sneaking around the regular pool. Also, you need to demonstrate a compelling reason to want to be at Harvard. Simply wanting the prestige isn't enough. There needs to be some particular program, or some special thing that makes Harvard the perfect fit for you.

Brutally hard. Tougher than getting in as a freshman. Try to make the best of the excellent schools you're going to.
