How hard is it to transfer to UCI from an out of state school?

I live in Virginia and am thinking about attending Virginia Tech and transferring after 2 years. I know UCI has a guranteed admission program for California residents, but how competitive is it for out of state transfers?

Not too hard if you have high GPA.

The website says a minimum of 2.8 GPA to be eligible for out of state. So if I get a 3.4, is that a safe bet that they accept me?

Probably OK if you meet other requirements. Not guaranteed though.

You can look up GPA transfers ranges for UCI by major with this link: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

You also need to make sure you meet the transfer course requirements for your major.
