Also, is it better to go to a CC first and then go in, or a UC?

CC....btw have you ever heard a word called "search" kthanxbye

not very hard. CC vs UC, it'll be easier comming from a CC but its not that hard from a UC.

some CC have guranteed transfer agreements. so a CC is easier

easier at a CC to transfer into UCSD..

Does anyone know about what the average gpa for an engineering aplicant would be. I have been able to find this information. I love the UCLA site that shows averages of aplicants and of those admitted by major, whish every school had a page like theirs.

oxypunk151: UCSD would be 3.5+, UCLA would be 3.7+, UCB would be 3.8+

With all due respect... I know you students would love to attend a "nice," "big," and relatively esteemed University, but I mean c'mon..... you guys know better about those statistics, and how they don't dictate rigid requirements. Just relax, and do your homework or something... go read, and you'll be fine.

It's as if there are minimum requirements down to the thousandths place to which applicants are accepted or rejected.

Its just nice to know about where you stand. Of course people get in below and above the averages. Still got one year to go, hoping to get my average to about 3.7 by the end of first the first quarter.

Isn't where you stand, already somewhat obvious? I mean, you cannot know where you stand exactly, until you know for sure from your rejection or acceptance, and even then there are variables that dictate such things, from year to year at the major or department level.

These are all rough approximations.... it's too hard to measure terribly closely where you "stand." We pretty know what strong applicants are, considering not just GPA, but application specifics, relative to the particular student, basically on a case-by-case basis. It's all chaos theory. :)

That's all I'm saying....

I get what your saying. Indepently of where anyone says "I stand" im going to work my hardest. I think you may be reading a little too deep into me asking for approximations. Im not living by what im told on CC. Just using this site as an aid to help me find things out. But I have seen many people who do seem to take what they here on this site as if it were truths for the addmision process. None the less, any information is helpful, and this site does offer a lot of good advice.

Hey I agree, yes, this is a great site.

Naturally, you would want the information you described... all the best to you.
