How Hard is it to Transfer?

Hello. I'm an OOS senior in high school who didn't get accepted at UF. I'm thinking about going to FSU and then transferring to UF after my first year at FSU (if I indeed still find that UF would be a better fit for my interests). I heard that UF prefers instate transfers over OOS transfers. Is this true? ...And are the odds of getting in at UF strong? I'm currently interested in pre-med, so I'd probably major in something like biology or biochemistry. What kind of college GPA would be needed? Would around a 3.5 do the job?

I hope this question isn't offensive to anyone... Thanks for the help. :)

3.8 gets you in the door for sure... I think a 3.5 might do it though.

a 3.68 should give me a good chance? i have 45 hours currently and will have 61 by end of this semester

UF has recently capped SFCC transfer admissions. Take that for what it's worth (no more guarantees).

Honestly you probably are going to have a difficult time transferring after one year at FSU. UF gives preference to students who are from community colleges or students who have 60+ credits. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's going to be much more difficult. Especially, as ABCB said, they've capped transfer admissions. Good luck!
