how hard is organic chemistry? the course load? difficulty of work?

hard enough that sophomores are probably the ones with the highest suicide rate at cornell? can anyone verify this?

its time consuming and people go into crazy mode a few days before a test. sometimes I just think premeds like to complain a lot (not premed but took it anyway? )

It's a very fair class actually. Definitely rewards you for studying since the information is not very difficult to understand but takes time to memorize (a lot like med school which is why all med schools require the class). I would definitely recommend taking it.

agreed with norcal, if you put time into understanding it, your grade should show it.

It is easy for some and hard for others.(The class is curved) Personally I thought that it was easier than General Chemsitry! It depends on how much time you are willing to put and how much you like chemstry!

Come on fd36... you are perpetuating a myth. If you were trying to be funny, you have a macabre sense of humor.

not funny...just perpetuating a myth...but i mean people do go mad crazy before tests...

^^ fd36: Well, people go crazy because prelim weeks are the most stressful at Cornell for everyone [who cares about his/her grades]!
