@rokraii what classes did you go to? I found Bio H stimulating with a good teacher and not too hard. I did find Spanish (although it is 1 grade behind what I"m doing now) as easy with a lot of joking around. English, where they did Shakespeare, was good material but there was a lot of fooling around. African History was good, not too hard. The main reason why I would go to BS is for stronger academics. At my current school I’d be taking an AP History course. I’m not sure if the academics are tougher. How was math there? I never went.
“Academics” and “tougher” are big, general words. The answer to your question depends a great deal on your aptitude and the course of study you select. Look through the course offerings and find the advanced courses in the subjects that most interest you. Think about what your course of study would look like over your three or four years at BS. If you are ready for more advanced material, especially in math, science and language, you will likely be placed in more advanced classes. Few – the lucky few! – find these universally easy. Whether your academic program is “tough” is often largely a matter of whether you want it to be.
As this thread indicates, you won’t find many current BS students who would say that BS is easy for them. What makes it challenging is perhaps not easy to see on a revisit day: the work that takes place out of the classroom, the way a full day or week is structured, etc. These experiences are not easy to simulate. Nor are the many beautiful and fulfilling moments in the life of a boarding school, alas.
