(like the entrance math test, im going to take it like 2 hours)
:D

well, considering it's meant primarily for students who got 5s on BC who want to pass beyond 3rd semester engineering math, my guess is that it's pretty hard. Math 192 is challenging stuff with triple integrals, partial derivatives, and other nonsense i don't understand.

What would they be jumping into, 293? Jesus.

Is this abt the Cornell Departmental Exam...that lets u sjip Math 192. And u skip Math 191 thru AP.

How many semesters r those to courses worth?

is this test for placement or for admission purposes?? does cornell have entrance exams for transfers (like caltech)??

The engineering math sequence is 191, 192, 293, 294.

Which corresponds to Calc BC, Multivariable Calc, a weird form of Differential Equations (our syllabus is so much different compared to the diff eq classes at other schools I know of...), and Linear Algebra. Just FYI.

actually, it's a test to make sure that you are ready for Cornell Engineering Math 191

then we're talking about different tests...

Yeah there's a placement test given during orientation week that lets you skip into even higher math if you're ready.

Just checking so I dont get screwed up later. This is the "On-Line Engineering Math Diagnostic Exam", right? And I remember someone saying that this is NOT mandatory?

if you have gotten a 3 or better on the AP BC, or 5 on the AB, then it is not necessary. Otherwise, if you don't take it then Cornell just might put you in remedial arithmetic (or cornell math 111).

Pretty sure it's a 4 or 5 on Calc BC. At least in Engineering.

actually, sparticus, i think the test he is referring to is the online exam that is meant for kids who dont have calculus AP credit and are looking to skip math 191, whereas math 192 can only be skipped through an examination given during orientation.

i have taken BC Calculus, but I was still worried about not doing the correct procedure, so I took it anyway. I passed, so :D
