I've found the PSAT to be much, much easier. I've taken it twice already, as a freshman and as a sophomore. Currently, I'm a junior. I recently "re-did" these two tests (I had saved the booklet) and got a perfect score on each section... I'm a little suspicious because the highest I've scored on the SAT practice tests I've taken is perfect scores on both math and writing, but only a 700 on the critical reading. Were these two PSAT tests a fluke, or is it really that much easier than the SAT? And do different grade levels take different PSAT tests? Thanks in advance!

I found the PSAT relatively easier, but my scores would beg to differ.

You would obviously score much higher if you re-take the same tests again…

i scored like 44 (440) points higher on the SAT than on the PSAT, but the PSAT was still much easier. despite it being easier, i scored lower because i wasn’t really that familiar with the test at the time, and i did not really make any effort to study/learn the material as i did for the SAT
the curves are pretty harsh for the PSAT though. looking back at my old PSAT booklet, heres what it looked like:

math
-1 75
-2 72
-3 70

writing
-1 76
-2 73
-3 71

CR
-1 80
-2 79
-3 76

The PSAT is “easier” in that it’s much shorter than the SAT and does not have an Essay portion. However, it is still “harder”, in my view, to get a perfect (or near-perfect) score on the PSAT than on the SAT since the PSAT’s curves are harsher than the SAT’s.

The PSAT’s math is easier. The SAT has algebra 2 on it, whereas the PSAT doesn’t. The only other difference is the absence of the essay, and the length.

LoseYourself, I took the tests nearly two years later I didn’t remember a thing from the tests.
