how hard is the sat II for world history?

I'll be taking this test on saturday, and I'm getting a little nervous. Although I first assumed it would be very easy, especially in comparison to the AP World History test I just took, when I took some practice tests in the kaplan review book, I didn't do so hot (one 690 and one 560). Are these any indications as to my real probable score? I have reviewed for the ap test a lot (read review book, notes, extra helps after-school, etc.), but I am just now beginning to go deep into SAT mode.

If you have taken this test recently or in the past, how hard is it actually? in comparison to the kaplan review book practice tests? in comparison to AP? Please respond asap, thanks a bunch!

its actually pretty hard. i think harder than the AP. I got a 5 on the AP test and an A both semesters in my class but i only managed to pull a 710 on the real test. its pretty nitpicky and demands a facts instead of broader knowledge that requires you to know trends/patterns.

The world history SATII is a completely different ballgame from the AP. The AP tests general trends and socio-political issues more than anything else. The SATII is in general a facts and specific information test. You will need to know the names of influential people as well as important events and wars etc. The best book for this is Barrons, and the worst is Petersons. The test is relatively hard, but don't sweat it, the curve is ridiculously generous. If you've studied a detailed prepbook or textbook, an 800 isn't especially difficult.

I didn't find it all that difficult. Then again I'm a history nerd.

I found it really difficult
I took it after taking AP Euro which I had As in and got a 5 on the exam....
when I got to the test...there were lots of obscure Africa and Asia questions which were never covered in my class so I cancelled my test

I always wonder what I would have gotten.......

Well, you shouldn't expect to do well in a world history exam by studying a Euro history class.

I don't know about AP, but I found Kaplan a little harder than the actual test.

SAT-II World History questions are very typical in pattern. They focus more on trends and macro-changes than specific facts. When you read the history summaries in each of the chapters in the Kaplan book, try to focus more on judging what the situation was developing into/changing from, than the dates and names. Well, obviously dates and names are important, but you're not going to be asked questions like "When did _____ happen?" or "Who was the president of ____ during ___ event?". Study 2-3 chapters a day, do the chapter tests, and do the practice tests. Kaplan was a really helpful test prep book.

haha ya i know stupid idea but my school doesnt offer World History :(

I think AP was harder than SAT II in my opinion. Don't know what my AP score will be, but I got a 770 on my SAT USH, but probably not more than a 3 on my AP.

i think barrons has better explanations then kaplan but the practice tests are better in kaplan. i'm gonna take it on june 3 as well, good luck to everyone..
