How hard is to switch from Trinity to Pratt?

I’ve read numerous posts about the ease of changing majors within a school, but how hard is it to actually change schools? Is it strikingly more difficult to switch to Pratt from Trinity than vice versa? What would be the approximate percentage of students that successfully transfer from Trinity to Pratt after the first semester of their freshman year? Is it highly probable?
Thanks!

No idea. But you would need a good reason to switch. Don’t apply to Trinity just because you think its easier to get in with the intent of switching later.

It’s easy to switch. Yes, more transfer from Pratt to Trinity than the other way simply because engineering is more specialized and difficult, and people learn it’s not for them. I think about 20-25% of Pratt transfers out, and they simply have to check a box on a form at the end of the year. (Can already start taking whatever classes in Trinity that you want before that point.) Trinity to Pratt is “harder” in that you have to have taken at least some of the prereqs in math/science (the only absolutely necessary engineering course to take freshman year is computational methods in engineering) in order to not be far behind. Also, you need to have done reasonably well in those classes to demonstrate you’ll have some success in engineering. If you’re doing poorly, it’s unlikely that you’d want to transfer to Pratt in the first place. So, it’s not as if you have to be readmitted and apply to Pratt (like at some universities), but rather you have to have taken some appropriate courses and done okay in them to set you up for success. Once that is done, it’s checking a box in a form at the end of the year. I think Pratt gets about 5% of its graduating class from Trinity transfers (i.e.15 or so students a year), but I haven’t seen recent numbers. Agreed on the above, though, that you should initially apply to whatever school interests you more.
