How hard is UCSB on a D?

Theoretically, if I was to receive one but inform the university immediately, would it jeopardize my enrollment?

Second semester, if that matters.

considering i know someone who got kicked out of ucsc admission due to a D 2nd semester, i think ucsb will probably do the same…dont know if my friend told them immediately tho…

raise it…you got a quarter left

Muserz- surely you know that California high schools do not use the quarter system

He/she has a quarter left to raise it! its the middle of the semester. I’m in a california highschool, by the way.

i got a D in one of my courses last year but i knew i was probably gonna get that D so i called up the admissions office and told them about it. the response i got last year was that i was fine, if that was my only d, if i got another i would probably get the boot.

What class is it in?

If its in english or math it is an auto revoke. (Source: AP english teacher who is a private college guidance counsellor)

that is untrue. i got a D in my ap calc class and my acceptance wasn’t rescinded.

Yeah tr is right. I e-mailed them about my f in ap calc second semester and they said as long as I keep a 3.0 gpa weighted and don’t get any more failing grades then my admission is still good. So just keep your gpa up. Btw read my other posts on rescindment it has some extra info.

i guess if you have met your "a-g"s, then your fine. if not, then id be worried.

agenalay you say to keep a 3.0 gpa weighted, but is that 3.0/4.0 or 3.0/5.0?
(I am not from the US)

Rafaprato, its always on a 4.0 scale. You can get over a 4.0, but to get a 5.0 out of 4.0 is taking all AP or Honors that are accepted as weighted and getting an A in each.

You should feel extremely lucky to get into ANY UC. Due to the economy, they’ve cut acceptance rates by up to 50%. They won’t cut you slack. Their wait list is full of kids who haven’t pulled a D.

Question: Does anyone know if UCSB rescinds Regent’s Scholarships? I’m in a similar situation right now; I have a C in AP Calc (but sometimes it becomes a D, then a C again) and I’m wondering if a D would (assuming UCSB was kind enough to forgive me and not rescind my ADMISSION) be grounds to rescind the scholarship?

P.S. I’m going to try really hard to keep a C, obviously. I’m just imagining the (unlikely) worst scenario.

Hi guys,
I’m new here and am in a similar dilemma.
I currently have 3 low C’s, that I will not be able to bring up to b’s. My weighted gpa is over a 3.0, but my unweighted is not. I am currently in 4 AP classes and have taken 10… that’s the problem. I heard UC gpa only accepts 8 semesters of AP credit. Does that mean when they look at my 2nd semester grades, it will basically be unweighted and it will look like I have less than a 3.0?
Will I get revoked?
